Door Code
The last four digits of the phone number associated with this reservation.
Using the TV
The television in the living room is a Roku Samsung model that allows you to watch movies and television via Roku or stream from any number of apps on the television. Importantly we do not provide streaming services however you can CAST from any phone to the TV so long as the phone is on the same wifi as the TV is.
To cast a show just open what you want to watch on your phone and click the cast button that looks like a TV icon at the top of the screen for an iPhone via airplay. Similar for android.
Fireplace
The living room features a wood-burning fireplace that you are welcome to use. For your convenience, we provide wood and fire starters. Please remember to never leave fire unattended, especially when going to bed, and keep children away from it. Additionally, avoid overfilling the fireplace.
Parking
Ample parking spaces are available in the driveway. Please do not park on the street.
Trash
Please place all trash & recycling in the containers in the driveway to the left of the door. All items to be recycled go into the dedicated container. Vermont takes recycling very seriously and will issue fines for non-compliance. Please follow the guidelines in the Vermonters Guide to Recycling
Quiet Hours
This is your home while you stay with us however, we do have neighbors and noise carries, therefore, please keep the noise down after 10 pm and before 8 am. (Please note, due to proximity to the airport, there is occasional air traffic noise, including brief spurts as F35 jets take off between 9am and 2pm Monday-Friday).
Accessible Areas
The entire house is yours to enjoy with the exception of the ground floor side room and any locked room or closet.
Laundry
The washer and dryer are in the downstairs bathroom and are available for use throughout your stay. Please leave the washer door ajar when not in use to allow air to circulate and avoid mildew within the washer.
Deck Use
Feel free to enjoy use of the deck. If you move the furniture please return it before you depart
Skis & Outdoor Equipment
We welcome you to store your skis and other outdoor equipment in the downstairs foyer near the pool table. We do ask you not to wear your boots in the house and not to bring the equipment up into the upstairs portion of the house.
Climate Control
The house uses (5) brand new heat pumps in each of the bedrooms to heat and cool the living and sleeping areas of the house. ALL HEAT PUMPS MUST BE SET TO THE SAME SETTING (e.g. heat or cool) for them to work, however off is fine. If they are set to different uses none will work.
Please use the heat pumps and not the thermostats which control the baseboard electric heating, as it is not efficient and is intended as a back up. There is a cast iron wood stove downstairs that you are welcome to use as well and it works very well and gives of a wonderful amount of warmth that warms the downstairs and the upper levels. Lastly, the downstairs uses a very efficient Ranieri natural gas heater that is the primary heat for down there.

Please turn down to 60 degrees when you depart and in the summer turn off the air conditioning.
Kids
There is a pack n play in the primary bedroom and clean sheets for the mattress inside it for your use.
Smoke-free Property
This is a smoke-free property. Smoking and vaping in any form is strictly prohibited anywhere in or on the property.
Pets
Well behaved dogs are welcome at Smuggler's Trove however you are responsible for them in and outside of the property. Please do not let them onto the furniture.
Overnight Guests
As a rule, guests are not allowed for overnight stays however if you wish to host friends or family, please let Jolie know in advance. We do not allow events at the property unless you’ve asked and we have approved it in advance.
Check-out
Prior to check-out, we would ask you to wash your dishes, strip the linen from the beds and leave them on top of the mattress, and place any dirty towels in the laundry room downstairs, please. Other than that, please turn off the lights and down the heat/AC and lock the door.
It would be appreciated if you would text Jolie at 802 662-0499 when you have departed.
Reporting Damages
Accidents may happen. In case you damage anything in the house or on the property, please notify Jolie before you leave. Damages noted by property management will be reported and costs of repair will be charged to the guest.
Snow & Ice
During winter months, as early as October and as late as April, the driveway will be plowed whenever the snow accumulates to 4 inches or more. Additional precautions are needed during and between snowstorms. A shovel and scoopable snowmelt salt are located beside the front door to ensure exits are always clear and safe.
